1. What does a red pushpin  red  or blue pushpin  blue  indicate on the map?
In Europe and Canada, a red pushpin denotes an Esso station. On the United States map, a red pushpin denotes an Exxon station, and a blue pushpin denotes a Mobil station.

2. What does a red and blue cluster pushpin  redblue  indicate on the map?
This indicates that there is more than one station in that area. To view the stations in that area, click on the cluster pushpin or zoom in. The map will start to cluster data if there are 30 stations returned on the search.

3. What does a red and black pushpin  redblue  indicate on the map?
This denotes the center of your search. This does not denote a station.

4. What does a grey pushpin  grey  indicate on the map?
This indicates that there are stations, however, they do not match your "Refined Search" criteria.

5. What does a Green pushpin  green  indicate on the map?
The green A pushpin denotes the start of a route and the green B pushpin denotes the end of the route.

6. Why can't I see any stations?
The Locator search engine automatically points to the center of the criteria entered, so you may have to zoom out to find some stations. You can zoom out by using the slider on the left hand side of the map.

7. How can I move around on the map?
The arrows in the upper left hand side of the map allow you to pan North, East, South and West. Another way to do this is simply click and drag the map in whichever direction you prefer. You can zoom in and out by using the "+" and "-" or slider. You can also zoom in by double clicking on the map where you want it to center at.

8. How do I find the station closest to me?
On the Fuel Finder page, enter your location in the "Find a Station" box and click on "Show Nearest Station" button. This will automatically search for the stations closest to the location you have entered. From there, you can click on a station’s pushpin to get detailed directions or more information on the station's features and hours of operation.

9. Can I search by a station's features?
You can search for stations with certain features by selecting those features in the "Refine Your Search" section to the right of the "Find a Station" box. When you select the features you are looking for, the map will automatically update to show the stations fitting your criteria and the stations that do not have the selected features will be denoted with gray pushpins. Remember, the filters you select remain active as you search. Therefore, you will have to clear out your filter selections to do a new search.

10. Can I see a different view of the map?
If you prefer the look of a satellite image, simply click on "Satellite" in the upper right hand side of the map. "Hybrid" is another option that combines the map with a satellite image. The "Terrain" option displays a topographical map.

11. How do I find stations I want to visit on a route that I have planned?
Along your route, there will be service stations flagged with a pushpin. Simply, click on this to view the station’s address and phone number. If there is a red and blue cluster pushpin, this indicates that there is more than one station in this area. To view the stations in a cluster, you need to click on the cluster or zoom in.

12. Once I get the directions for my route, can I get a closer look at where I need to turn?
If you click on the step (any place in the row) in the driving directions column (on the left side of the screen), this will display a magnified map view of the specific area at that specific point in the directions.

13. What if I don't want to drive on the exact route that is provided for me?
You can alter your route at any time by moving the large green pushpins, as these are indicative of your departure location and the destination. Simply, click and drag to wherever you would like the directions to generate to and from.
